This is one of the commonest birds at the reserve. They are long-lived and have a beautiful call, usually the last bird to call at night.

The Rufous-bellied Thrush is typical thrush sized and has dark coloured upperparts. The throat is pale and has streakings, whilst the belly is rufous red. The bill is yellow and the eye is orange ringed.
