Anas platalea
The Red Shoveler is quite common in Argentina but we have not yet seen it in our area of Ibera.
It is a medium sized duck with a very long and wide black bill. The head is pale with streakings and the back is bright chestnut with black spots. Coverts are pale blue and the iris is white.
