The Purplish-Jay is quite common in the gallery woods near the river – less so in the Marsh area.  It is noisy and gregarious like all Jays.

Size around 30-35cm it has a dark hood and bib with pinkish/brown underparts and a long purplish tail.

It is known as Urraca Morada in Argentina.
