This Pipit is the most common at Reserva Don Luis.  It is easily seen in the anti fire pathways where the grass is shorter, and can be approached quite closely.

It is average size for a Pipit at 14cm and has white underparts with streaking around the throat and flanks. The outer retrices are white which is a distinguishing feature as otherwise the Pipits all look very similar.  Upperparts are dark with buffy streaks.

This species displays at a lower level than other Pipits and descends with wings almost vertical.
