Xolmis cinereus
The Grey Monjita is one of 3 Monjitas that inhabit the Ibera Marshes. It is part of the Tyrannidae family of which we have many examples at our reserve.
The most noticeable feature is the bright red eyes and also the splash of black, white and grey when it flies.
It measures about 20cm, has greyish upperparts and a white lower belly. It has a short white supercilium and a white stripe under the eye. Legs and bill are black and tail is blackish with whtie tip.
In Argentina it is known as Monjita Gris
