Chlorostilbon aureoventris
This beautiful Hummingbird can be found all over central and northern Argentina and is the most common member of the Trochilidae family.
In Argentina it is found in the North of the country east of the Andes and as far south as Buenos Aires province.
This tiny bird is predominantly irridescent green with irridescent blue throat and breast and forked blue tail. It has a long red bill with a black tip.
The female is quite different with pale grey throat and underparts and green upperparts. She has a white or pale grey supercilium running from the back of her eye to her neck in paralell with the black line that runs from under the eye to the neck. The female also has white or pale grey tips to the tail.
