The Gilded Sapphire is similar to the Glittering-bellied Emerald and we have several of both species at Reserva Don Luis.

It is predominantly green with a bronzy gloss and a bronze coloured tail.  It has a long curved red bill with a black tip.  It is fairly vocal like many of the Hummingbirds in this area.  The female is similar with duller plumage and a grey lower belly.
