This little Owl has a reputation for luring small birds (and not so small birds) with its repetitive call.  It measures a mere 16cm and is found in wooded areas and sometimes in private gardens. It is streaked brown and white all over and generally has a black tail although there are browner morphs.

It has large talons and can take relatively large birds as well as amphibians, small reptiles and insects.
