Lathrotriccus euleri
We have many Euler’s Flycatchers at our reserve in the wooded areas. They are in the Tyrannidae family and as the name suggests, they perch on branches and hunt insects actively. They also have a distinctive call.
The bird measures about 12cm and has pale greyish underparts which become white on the lower belly. Head and upperparts are dark brown. The wings are blackish with noticeable cinnamon edged coverts. The mandible is a cinnamon colour.
