Agelaioides badius
The Bay-winged Cowbird is occasionally seen at Reserva Don Luis in small flocks but is not common here like the Shiny Cowbird. Â Most noticeable about this species is the call which is quite musical and a chorus of these birds singing is very pleasant. Â The Argentine name is Tordo Musico and they are considered common throughout the country with the exception of the far south.
This species has a pale grey head and underparts with a black pointed bill and black lores. It measures about 18cm and from behind looks like a large sparrow.
The upperparts are brown and black with rufous primaries. Â The tail is predominantly black
