This Plover is a migrant that breeds in the Northern Hemisphere and comes to South America in our spring/summer.  We occasionally see this bird during migration feeding in the shallow ponds.

It measures about 22cm, has white streaked underparts and a white supercilium.  Back and wings are dark brown with some spotting and a dark cap.  We only see the non-breeding plumage here in Argentina.
