You cannot miss this small dove after hearing it’s call, which is so distinctive.  It was recently only found in Misiones, but has now been at our reserve for the past 2 years, and we often see it on our bird table. The feathers give the impression of being scaled, hence the name. The tail is long, mostly black with paler outer feathers.
