Columbina squammata
You cannot miss this small dove after hearing it’s call, which is so distinctive. Â It was recently only found in Misiones, but has now been at our reserve for the past 2 years, and we often see it on our bird table. The feathers give the impression of being scaled, hence the name. The tail is long, mostly black with paler outer feathers.
