The Rufous-collared Sparrow is common in the Ibera Marshes as it is throughout Argentina. They frequently nest at Reserva Don Luis and are frequent visitors to our bird table.

This small passerine has a dark half crest with a pale grey face and throat and a dark mark on the cheek. It has a rufous collar that stops before the throat ending in a black mark. The breast and belly are grownish/grey and the upperparts are sparrow-like.
