The Ringed Teal has been seen in the Ibera Marshes, but we only started to see it at the reserve in 2023.

It is a beautiful small duck with grey cheeks, a bluish bill and a thick dark stripe that runs from the crown to the nape. The breast is pinkish with dark spots with red scapulars and pale grey flanks. The tail is short and it has a white spot on the side.

The female is plainer with a predominantly brown face with white markings, breast and flanks are barred pale brown.

This duck is often seen perched on low trees.
