We saw this attractive bird at the reserve for the first time in 2016 but it is relatively common in the Ibera Marshes and usually found close to water.

It has black upperparts and white underparts, with long black legs.

It is similar to the White-headed Marsh Tyrant but the black upperparts entend to the top of the head.
