Columba picazuro
This is quite a common pigeon in Argentina, less so in the Ibera Marshes.
It is a large bird at around 34cm and quite striking. Mainly plumbeous in colour, it has a reddish head and neck. It has typical pigeon scaling on the back of the neck and the tips of the coverts are white. The eyes are reddish.
