Broad-eared Bat
We captured this rare, medium sized bat in Misiones in 2018. Not much is known about this bat in Argentina.
Its morphology is of a similar size to Tadarida brasiliensis and it is around the same size. There are however some differences in the incisors (front upper teeth) and also in the length of the 2nd phalange of the 4th digit. The fur has a white base with dark brown tips, the upper lips are very wrinkled to allow it to shout out loud its echolocation. The wings are long and narrow and it is one of the fastest fliers in the bat world.
It migrates but little is known about where it goes.
