Broad-eared Bat
We captured this rare, medium sized bat in Misiones in 2018. Â Not much is known about this bat in Argentina.
Its morphology is of a similar size to Tadarida brasiliensis and it is around the same size. Â There are however some differences in the incisors (front upper teeth) and also in the length of the 2nd phalange of the 4th digit. Â The fur has a white base with dark brown tips, the upper lips are very wrinkled to allow it to shout out loud its echolocation. Â The wings are long and narrow and it is one of the fastest fliers in the bat world.
It migrates but little is known about where it goes.
