The Neotropic Cormorant is common throughout Argentina and we see it sometimes in the Ibera Marshes especially on the larger lakes.

It measures around 65 cm and is glossy black with a blue eye.  The bill is typically cormorant with a downward hook at the end and the tail short.

It feeds mainly on fish.
