This Woodcreeper is seen in the woodlands of the Ibera marshes although it is not common in this area.

It is around 18cm in length with a long downcurved bill which it uses to pry insects out of the tree bark.  Its wings and back are predominantly rufus in colour whilst the underparts are pale and striped.  It has a striking pale supercilium and spotted crown.

The call is very distinctive and is a series of notes reducing in scale.
