The Little Blue Heron is very rare in Argentina.  We saw it in the Ibera Marshes, close to our reserve in 2013 and it attracted a lot of attention.

The adult bird is greyish blue with a reddish hue around the neck.  The bill is long and straight with a very slight downcurve and a dark blue tip.

The juvenile starts off white then gradually attains its blue colour as in the photo above.
