This vulture is one of three that are regularly found in the Ibera Marshes.  It is very similar to the Turkey vulture but its head is coloured yellow, pink and green.

It measures around 50cm, is black all over with pale legs.  The underside of the wings has a pale patch under the primaries which can diferentiate it from the Turkey Vulture in flight.

Usually seen near water.
