Coccyzus melacoryphus
This beautiful member of the Cuculidae family is a regular summer migrant to our reserve and its distinctive call can be heard in most of our small wooded areas.
This bird measures 25cm and has dark brown upperparts. Â The underparts are whitish with a pale cinamon wide longitudinal stripe right down to the vent. Â As in other cuckoos the tail is long and graduated with large white spots on the underside. Â The bill is long and downcurved
The Argentine name is Cuclillo Canela.
