Coccyzus melacoryphus
This beautiful member of the Cuculidae family is a regular summer migrant to our reserve and its distinctive call can be heard in most of our small wooded areas.
This bird measures 25cm and has dark brown upperparts. The underparts are whitish with a pale cinamon wide longitudinal stripe right down to the vent. As in other cuckoos the tail is long and graduated with large white spots on the underside. The bill is long and downcurved
The Argentine name is Cuclillo Canela.
