The Chalk-browed Mockingbird is occasionally seen in the Ibera Marshes but is more common in private gardens.

It is a very gregarious bird with a wide range of calls, including many imitations of other birds. It is often seen perched on top of a tree calling loudly in spring.

Underparts are buffy or white and it has a long tail with partially white retrices.   Upperparts are brownish with distinctive white wing bars.

The supercilium is wide and white and the eye has a black line running through it from the lores to well behind the eye.The rest of the head is brown.

This bird often cocks it tail up when alert.
