We have plenty of cattle in the Ibera marshes so we often see Cattle Egret which like to be with cattle.

This species measures about 35cm and resembles the Snowy Egret but has a shorter, thicker yellow bill instead of black.  It also has a shorter neck.

Breeding plumage for the male is distinctive with pink markings on head, chest and back.  The legs also turn yellow.
