This small parrot measures only 11cm and can be found in the north of the Ibera marshes in the forested areas.  We have not seen any of these birds at Reserva Don Luis yet.  You often find it feeding on fleshy trees in wet areas.

It is predominantly pale green with darker green wings and a short tail.   There is a blue wing patch under the coverts which is quite noticeable and it has an ivory coloured bill.

The female is similar but without the blue.
