Leucochloris albicollis
The White-throated Hummingbird is fairly common in Argentina and is occasionally seen in the Ibera Marshes. Â We first saw it at Reserva Don Luis in April 2016 when it was a frequent visitor to our nectar feeders.
This tiny bird resembles the ubiquitous Glittering Bellied Emerald from behind as it is predominantly irridescent green. Â The underparts are however different and it has a white throat, a green breastband with a white belly. Â The tips of its tail are also white and it has a long straight bill with a pinkish lower mandible.
