Agelaius cyanopus
We see these birds close to our ponds and lagunas usually in the reeds. They are common at our reserve.
The male is glossy black all over, around 18cm in size, and has a longish pointed bill.
The female is quite different and has streaked yellow underparts with brown and rufous upperparts and brown tail.
They have a pleasant sounding call and are relatively confiding.
