This long-legged Stilt is quite common in the Ibera Marshes, particularly in winter. A few of them also breed there and one can sometimes see juveniles in spring.

This bird has very long red legs which make it perfectly adapted to feeding in shallow waters. The upperparts are black with a white crown and face, and the underparts are white.

Juveniles have browner upperparts.
