The Muscovy duck breeds in the Ibera Marshes although it is rarely seen.  It has a nervous disposition like many ducks in Argentina and perches in trees.

It is a large duck of around 65cm (female) and 55cm (male), predominantly black with a white wing spot which is noticeable in flight.  The male has red skin around the eye and has a small crest.
