Polioptila dumicola
The Masked Gnatcatcher is a tiny bird that is very active and usually seen in pairs. Â We often see them rapidly moving around shrubs and other vegetation in the Ibera marshes.
It measures only 10cm (including tail) and has pale underparts with a white belly and darker, bluish upperparts. Â The tail is long, blue and white outer retrices and usually held erect. Â The male has a black mask over the eye.
